Herekeke Residency/Collaboration

For the past month I have been at Herekeke, near Questa, NM, doing a collaborative residency. I found out about the arts center a few years ago through a friend and stopped by for a visit while on a road trip. The land here is amazing! I feel so lucky to have been able to come back for such a length of time. I have been doing some explorative sculpture work as well as projects for the organization, building things for their print studio. 3D Studios

So much is happening! I've moved away from SF, but before leaving my job at the Oakland metalshop 3D Studios I snapped these photos that I've been meaning to post. My boss, Joe Farais, started the business 25 years ago to fabricate his metal sculptures (they are badass!). The past several years he's been making retail displays, so that's what I was helping with. Production work is of course very repetitive at times, but over the course of the year I got to work on a variety of projects.
